Burebi Yiming

Robotic Materials Postdoctoral Researcher

Dr. Burebi Yiming is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Robotic Materials at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (MPI-IS), Stuttgart. Her research focuses on soft, stretchable ionic conductors — elastomers and ionogels that achieve a balance between high ionic conductivity and mechanical robustness — for applications in flexible and wearable electronics.

She earned her PhD through a joint program between ESPCI Paris–PSL (Paris, France) and Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China), where she developed ionically conductive elastomers and ionogels and investigated their structure–property relationships.

During her doctoral studies at Zhejiang University, she received several prestigious awards, including the Youbo Fellowship (Excellent Doctoral Student), the Chu Kochen Scholarship (top 8 out of more than 10,000 doctoral students), and the Qi Zhen Cup Nomination Award for Academic Innovations.

She joined MPI-IS in August 2025 and serves as a reviewer for journals including Materials Today Communications and ACS Macro Letters.
