Hyeon-Ho Jeong, PhD student in the Micro, Nano, and Molecular Systems Research Group headed by Peer Fischer at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart is the recipient of the graduate student award combined with a grant of 450 Euro from the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS). He received the award at the Spring Meeting 2017 in Strasbourg, France.
Each year, E-MRS organizes numerous scientific events, including the E-MRS Spring Meeting, which attracts about 2,500 attendees every year and is widely recognized as one of the most important materials research meetings in Europe.
Jeong’s award-winning talk “Corrosion-protected 3D Core-shell Nanocolloids” was selected on the basis of criteria such as outstanding performance in the conduct of the project and promise for future substantial achievement in materials research.
Previously, at the Materials Research Society Fall Meeting 2016, Jeong was honored with the MRS gold award for his talk “Chiral Plasmonic Nanosensors” in Boston, USA.
“It is a great honor to receive both the MRS and EMRS graduate student awards. I do believe my PhD work has been well recognized by the leading material research societies. Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without my supervisor, Prof. Peer Fischer and my lab colleagues at the MPI. I appreciate their support”, says Hyeon-Ho Jeong.
