This day is jointly hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research on our Stuttgart campus in Büsnau. We are excited to have you visit so you can experience the miraculous power of science up close!
Our MPI-IS scientists and staff work together to understand the principles of perception, action, and learning in intelligent systems that successfully interact with complex environments. We use this understanding to design future artificially intelligent systems. The Institute studies these principles in biological, computational, hybrid, and material systems, taking a highly interdisciplinary approach that combines mathematics, computation, materials science, and biology.
We love understanding the world and inventing new things! Our researchers are developing many creative ideas and take great pleasure in their implementation. We come to Stuttgart from all over Germany, Europe, and the world, working here in diverse teams that are organized around carefully chosen group leaders and directors. As we push the frontiers of human knowledge, we build on and contribute to advances in engineering, materials science, physics, math, biology, medicine, cognitive science, computer science, and other disciplines.
We have prepared a range of demonstrations and presentations to give you a taste of what we study. We hope that visiting our Open Day gives you insights into intelligent systems and gets you excited about science! Additionally, there will be a kids program, and our canteen will serve lovely meals.
