The newly established Max Planck Research Group for Rationality Enhancement (head: Dr. Falk Lieder) at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen is looking for student research assistants (m/f/d) with max. 83 hours/month to support ongoing research projects related to mechanisms of metacognitive learning, goal setting, attention control, cognitive tutors, and cognitive prostheses.
The positions include a broad spectrum of tasks, such as designing, preparing, and running behavioral experiments with human participants, data management and analysis, the design, application and refinement of computational cognitive models, and scientific writing. On this account, they offer excellent learning opportunities across all stages of the model-based development of computational tools for enhancing effectiveness, self-improvement, and cognitive growth. The monthly employment as well as the duration are negotiable, although a minimum availability of 40 h/month for a longer-term is preferred.
To apply for a position as student research assistant, please send your CV, transcripts, previous publications or thesis (if any), and a cover letter explaining your motivation and why you think you are a great fit for the group to firstname.lastname@example.org December 15, 2018. Furthermore, please arrange for at least 2 letters of recommendation to be emailed to the same address.
The Max Planck Society is committed to employing more handicapped individuals and especially encourages them to apply. The Max Planck Society seeks to increase the number of women in areas where they are underrepresented and therefore explicitly encourages women to apply.
