I am leading the Robot Perception Group at the Perceiving Systems Department. We have developed MPC-based formation-control methods and algorithms for multiple micro aerial vehicles (MAVs) that enable deep methods for person detection run in realtime on light-weight on-board GPUs on every MAV, to jointly perceive moving persons. More recently we have developed a convex MPC-based active perception-based formation control method. This method allows our MAVs to arrive at formations that jointly minimize the uncertainy in target perception while respecting other formation constraints, especially that of collision avoidance.
