Leveraging AI to help people become more productive: In this project, you will leverage Markov Decision Processes, dynamic programming, and reinforcement learning to develop an intelligent decision support system that helps people become more productive. This method will become the back-end of a to-do list gamification app that will help people overcome procrastination and prioritize their tasks more effectively.
Self-improvement apps:We make thousands of decisions every day but we don't always learn from our mistakes. This project investigates whether apps that prompt people to reflect on their decisions, problems, successes, and failures can help people improve themselves more rapidly. Previous experience with online and/or field experiments or skills in web development or mobile app development would be a great asset for this project.
Goal Setting.Goals are essential to human effectiveness. But which goals should we set, and how should we go about setting them? We will conduct a series of online and field experiments to find out which types of goals are most effective, identify effective goal setting strategies, and investigate how people can learn to set better goals. Previous experience with online and/or field experiments or skills in web development or mobile app development would be a great asset for this project.
An intelligent feedback mechanism for brain training.In this project you will contribute to the development of an intelligent brain training app that improves people’s ability to focus without getting distracted. To achieve this, you will work with reinforcement learning methods and computational models of cognitive control and human learning.
